Intayon, Ilocos Sur!

Every year, from the last week of January to the first week of February, every Ilocanos celebrates the big event—the Kannawidan Festival. Through this festival, our province unites surely as One.

Street Dance Competition (2023)

As I pass by every booth, stalls, tarpaulins, and even giant LED screens, the sense of pride of being an Ilocano rushes in. I still vividly remember the vibrant festive spirit it brought before the pandemic. Each artisan displays their creative crafts, each chef cooks local delicacies, and each person captures colorful grand float parades and anticipates the Saniata coronation. Additionally, this festival becomes inclusive to all. Cherishing our home, this festival brought us all to connect to each other, and we preserve our great heritage and culture that we treasure.

I would never skip this festival. Meyka met!

As this festival takes place in one place, being there is acknowledging everything at one glance. And this celebration reflects our faith and fate to be one. Never disappointed what Kannawidan festival had brought us.
